Battery Park by Sunrise: EFA Remodel/Renovation Winner
Battery Park by Sunrise received the Gold Award, the highest honor in the 2025 Environments for Aging Remodel/Renovation Competition. In partnership with HKS Architects, the team transformed the community’s multipurpose space into a refined social hub that blends sophistication with function. The design introduces clear zones for dining, gathering, and wellness, and creates a seamless flow that strengthens connection and purpose. This achievement highlights how thoughtful renovation and design leadership can set a new standard for senior living environments.

Brighton Gardens of Saddle River: EFA Design Showcase
Saddle River is featured in the Spring 2025 Environments for Aging (EFA) Design Showcase (see page 75). The renovation transforms dated interiors into spaces that draw on the site’s bucolic surroundings and create a more contemporary residential character. The first floor is reconfigured to feature an updated bistro, dining room, and multipurpose areas, with finishes and furnishings selected to balance warmth and sophistication. Cohesive material choices, layered lighting, and refined detailing support both daily use and larger gatherings, while enhancing the sense of connection and community throughout the design.
Sunrise at Lonsdale Square: EFA Design Showcase
Sunrise at Lonsdale Square is featured in the Spring 2025 Environments for Aging (EFA) Design Showcase (see page 91). The design immerses residents in biophilic experiences, where nature is felt as part of everyday life. Panoramic views of North Vancouver’s mountains and ocean frame each moment, complemented by living walls, an indoor micro farm, and green roofs that flow outward like terraces of greenery. Indoors, the atmosphere feels both boutique and personal, with natural colors, textures, and moods evoking the calm and richness of the surrounding landscape. Every element is crafted to create home-like spaces that nurture well-being and foster a seamless connection with nature
